Monte Cristo Sandwich (Ham Cheese French Toast) - It's a french toast version of ham & cheese sandwich. The best you will ever have! Great way to use up leftover Christmas ham.
Beignets trace their roots back to ancient Rome, but the modern French-style treat is a deep-fried choux pastry that’s a popular breakfast item in New Orleans, brought to the city by French colonists in the 18th century. Best eaten fresh and hot, the New Orleans beignet is typically served with powdered sugar on top, and it’s the official state doughnut of Louisiana. These tender, sugar-dusted beignets will transport you back to the French Quarter.
Since I was doing a gourmet toast post, I had to include 2 avocado versions but then I decided to go buck-wild and give you some non-avo versions. 2 are made with Hummus and 2 with whipped ricotta. I’ve made this exact setup for both a party and brunch where all I had to do was vary the size of the bread. The toppings though- folks went nuts over them.

Such a beautiful collection of recipes Sarah. I see several that I am definitely going to check out as soon as I am finished giving this post the thumbs up. P.S.. love the idea of saving money on meals so I have more to spend on gifts. 😉
When I was younger, I loved thick shakes – okay I still love thick shakes – but I long ago graduated to healthier choices, such as this Almond Joy- inspired frosty. Made with fresh almond milk, frozen bananas (for added creaminess), coconut, and a hint of chocolate, this frosty is a guiltless under-the-sun indulgence. Chocolate shavings and sweet coconut flakes are optional but highly recommended. You’re worth it!
Scallops is one of those ingredients that is so expensive in restaurants yet so easy to cook at home. Because of this, we usually cook scallops at home, so we can eat more than 3 tiny pieces and have it not cost $28 per plate. This Brown Butter Scallop recipe couldn't be easier - just heat some butter in a pan until it starts browning, throw in some scallops to brown on both sides and bam! - done in 5 minutes. SO decadent, so delicious. So many ''So's" in this paragraph. 🙂
The sweet and juicy meat comes in nice big chunks, so you’ll get more bang for your buck.
