Originating with the Pennsylvania Dutch and known as a mid-Atlantic food, scrapple is mash made out of pork scraps and trimmings, wheat flour, cornmeal and spices, such as thyme, sage and savory. Typically cut from a loaf, slices of scrapple are then pan-fried and can be served plain or eaten with all sorts of sweet and savory condiments like jelly, ketchup, honey, mustard and apple butter. Like any other breakfast food, you can also eat your scrapple in a sandwich or deep-fried.
And there you have it! A delicious gourmet lunch for twenty, put together by seven people. After we added everything up, it cost about $35 each for the ingredients, but only about $13 per plate, which really isn’t bad at all! We all split the bill, so that no one person was stuck with an enormous cost… except my boss, who graciously offered to cover the cost of the drinks. But thanks to him, we all had just a little happier of an afternoon. 😉

I made your Parmesan Croutons last week and they were wonderful in my nightly salads.I cut my bread into 3/8th cubes. They were so much better than the large croutons you buy at the stores. I bought more parmesan today so I can make another batch!
