This gives the meat fantastic flavor and moisture but can be a pain if it’s not rendered.

Chop the shrimp. Return the bisque to a simmer, add the shrimp and cook 2 to 3 minutes just to cook the shrimp through. Give the bisque a final taste for seasoning, pour it into warmed soup bowls and serve garnished with the orange zest and chives.
Score the skin of each duck breast in a criss-cross pattern, at least three 1/4″ deep cuts one inch apart each way. Make sure you score all the way through the fat layer, but not into the meat underneath. .

First brought to New York City by Jewish immigrants from Poland, the bagel conquered America as a quintessential breakfast food. One of the most classic ways to enjoy a bagel, particularly in New York, is topping it with lox (brined and smoked salmon) and cream cheese. For the full experience, add on a slice of tomato, capers and red onion. If you're not a big breakfast fan, cream cheese and lox fries exist, too.
Yes, you’ll need Old Bay Seasoning (no substitutions, please), but all that does is bring out the incredible flavor of the meat.

This easy breakfast board with bacon, eggs and fresh fruit is the perfect fuss-free, versatile breakfast or weekend brunch for serving a crowd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Massive and a treasure trove of a variety of recipes I love this cookbook and the only problem I have with the cookbook is that some ingredients you make not have on hand or are available at your local market. That being said it is a gourmet cookbook so it is cooking above the normal everyday cooking.
One thing I learned from working in a steakhouse is to roast your veggies with tomato paste spooned over the top until they’re crispy and charred.

Make the blueberry puree by adding one pint of blueberries and one tablespoon of honey to a small pot on medium heat. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently and use the back of a spoon to mash the blueberries up and break them down.

Cook the lentils: Stir in the tomato paste, paprika, thyme, oregano, and some freshly ground pepper, and cook about 1 minute. Add the lentils and vegetable broth, scraping up any bits at the bottom of the pot. Add a good pinch of salt. Allow the mixture to come to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer about 10-15 minutes or until the lentils are tender and the mixture is thickened. Once the lentils have thickened, tear the spinach leaves and add to the pot. Remove from the heat, and stir until combined. (If you find the lentil mixture is too thick, add a little water to thin it out.) Remove and discard the bay leaf. Taste for salt, adding more if needed.
Shakshuka is one of my go-to weekday meals. It’s easy, healthy, and beyond flavorful. The spiced tomato sauce is the perfect bed for the baked eggs which get topped with creamy feta and cilantro. Pair it with some pita or crusty bread and you have an incredible meal in about 15 minutes! What more could you want?

Does this breakfast sandwich really take 5 minutes? You bet it does. Here we’ve got a fried egg, purchased pesto, and quick sautéed arugula, topped on a toasted English muffin. It’s simple, but the combination of flavors is perfection. It’s one of our favorite egg breakfast ideas when we only have a few minutes. (5, in fact!)

The resulting loaf had a crisp, browned exterior and a soft, pleasantly squishy interior, almost reminiscent of bread pudding. We ate it in our backyard with salted butter while FaceTiming Evan’s parents.
